Residential Energy Storage Solution (RESS), from Following to Forming: Chapter 1 - Regulation

The generation period of RESS solutions can be variable from six months to two years in the market. What makes this difference can be design, manufacture, testing, certification. However, the RESS solution dooms to be ever-varying, not only with the multi-discipline knowledge behind, but also with the non-exhaustive feedback and experience needs from customers.

I will  introduce a forming methodology of RESS solution in any target market based on the ubiquity facts of solar panels installation in our living communities. The methodology is abbreviated as R.E.S.T., in which it prepares the RESS solution from perspectives of country Regulation, Economic outcome, application Sites, and Technology elements. From the real-time monitoring data of the deployed RESS solution, there are data insights for reflecting the indicators of the R. E. S. T.. In this way, the RESS solution allows it to be formed in a closed loop while keeping iterating itself.

This article is Chapter 1 - Regulation.  To form a RESS solution, country regulation is one critical thing to investigate and clarify.

Before reviewing the country regulations, please read and understand the RESS certifications that take into consideration the system’s control and safety, as listed in Table 1. The RESS certifications can be categorized by the key devices: Hybrid Inverter, Lithium-ion Battery (LiB) Storage.

* VDE 4105 is a standard that specifies the technical requirements for grid-connected systems.

FNN Conformity is the process through which equipment (like inverters) is tested and certified to meet those standards.

If an inverter complies with VDE 4105, it can receive an FNN conformity report that verifies it is suitable for grid connection according to the technical standards
