Residential Energy Storage Solution (RESS) Forming - Chapter 2 Economic Analysis for Payback Years and NPV

When analyzing the economic outcomes of a RESS solution, there are at least two perspectives to consider: that of the RESS solution provider and that of the RESS owner, who purchases and installs the system.

Since RESS solution providers typically keep their original costs and projected volumes confidential, the following economic analysis will adopt the perspective of the RESS owner.

There are several open-source tools available for predicting solar energy production and household energy consumption. I find the System Advisor Model (SAM), developed by National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), to be particularly useful for these predictions.

In the below SAM analysis example, the two scenarios are compared: Single-phase RESS vs Three-phase RESS. The PV-Battery- Residential Owner model in SAM tool was utilized for coming up below results, enjoy!
